Karl-Anthony Towns emphatically won the battle for revenge against the former teams in a 30-point thrash! The Big Bodega appeared dumbfounded by his work, refusing to express his innermost thoughts on the TNT telecast postgame interview. The emotions were riding high, and Towns and Julius Randle had a point to prove. However, as you'll see in one of the notables listed below, they went about it differently. While Donte was quiet until the 4th and Brunson posted a cool 14 and 6, Mikal Bridges had another outstanding performance; 29,6 and 6 is his remarkable stat line. Bridges has been the Knick of the month, despite Town's prowess and exploits in recent games; however, Bridges has a model of consistency for a more extended period than no other Knick has shown in December. Lastly, there was no beef, callouts, or talking to the opposing benches, as an unsettled Randle appeared to avoid post-game pleasantries. This was a gentleman's beatdown and a 30-point thrashing indeed.

Here are my four Knick game notables:
What did you say about that Knick defense?
The Knicks and their #15 Ranked defense shined thoroughly, holding the Timberwolves to minus 26 and extending the lead to 36 points. Anthony Edwards was in shackles while Randle was given the illusion that his buckets were damaging, but it only corrupted the flow of the Timberwolves offense. Plus, he scored most of his points in the first quarter, and when matched up against OG, Randle shot 2 of 6 from the field. During the season, Ant-Man averaged 26 points but was held to 17 points. Rudy Gobert scored his first point in the third quarter, as the Knicks shut him and the Timberwolves screen and roll attack.
Precious is in the starting lineup!
The starting lineup I always wanted to see this season featured the great Precious Achiuwa at PF due to his ability not to disrupt the structure of a 5-out system. He can play in or outside the dunker spot, camp out in the corner, and slash as a lob threat. Yes, there were times when Minnesota put the four on Towns and put Gobert on Precious, but it didn't impact Town's ability to perform, especially on the offensive end. The Only concern I had without Josh Hart in the lineup was the ball movement and the fluidity of the offense, but besides a couple of first-quarter turnovers, the offense was spectacular. While Hart should be a permanent fixture in the starting lineup, Bridges didn't look bad. He held down the fort at the 2-guard spot while making plays to others with slick passes. I'll talk about him a little later. The Knicks were more dominant on the glass because they consistently had two big men on the floor who could crash it and make plays inside on the offensive end.
Mikal Bridges is the Knick of the Month.
I will spoil the Knick of the Month award I planned to do post-December. Mikal Bridges clearly has been the Knick of the Month despite Karl Anthony Towns' recent dominance, and he does appear to be the favorite to win Player of the Week again this week. Mikal Bridges has been very consistent in each game this month. He's doing it on both ends of the floor, once again shutting down the opposing team's premier scorer and Ant-man. He improved his defensive rating and showed the world he could be a two-way All-Star in this league.
The real reason why Towns outshined Randle!
Karl Anthony Towns was passive and looked for his teammates in the first quarter despite having four turnovers. He had three assists, and the ball movement was fluid trying to get guys involved. On the other end, Randle was looking to attack from the start and, in my opinion, disrupted the natural flow of Minnesota's offense. Randle appeared to be the first option when, typically, he's the second; He's somebody that is featured alongside the Edwards, and if you were somebody who didn't know this, you would have thought Randle is the number one option. Coach Siar 617 from the Knicks State Madness discord server stated that Randle and his buckets were not good for the team. I concurred. Towns, to me, was doing it more within the flow of the offense, hitting threes, especially open 3's, knocking them down, and taking high-percentage shots. Instead of forcing the action and the initiatives. snickers
